Moving Up

Sora's last day of school was Wednesday. For some reason, the power went out as soon as we dropped her off and was still out when we picked her up. It's a good thing it was only a half day! After school, there was a picnic on the playground followed by a short moving up ceremony for all of the kindergarteners.
Sora loved her teacher, of course. She is also moving on after a very long time at the school. She has lived in town her whole life and is moving to the beach! I'm jealous!

The ceremony involved shaking all the hands of the teachers and doing a maypole while all the kids sang a sweet song about friends. Next year, a lot of the kids Sora's age are staying for elementary so she won't have to say goodbye to too many friends. Plus, a lot are coming up to camp over the course of the summer.

After the picnic, we went to the bookstore since I owed Sora a new book. Luckily for her and grandma, there is also a shaved ice hut right next to the bookstore.
We also went to the park for a bike ride and playground time. It was a great end to a great school year! Now on to camp!
